Women everywhere raise their Cosmos* to this sitcom about friendship, fashion and sex. Welcome to Watchmojo.com, and today we’ll be taking a look at the history of Sex and the City.

Originally premiering in 1998, Sex and the City had a huge on culture over its six seasons on the air. The show was a pioneering force in changing the television and real-life women dealt with dating and sex. High fashion, designer cocktails and sharp dialog this series part of every girl’s night end. Set in Manhattan, Sex and the City was on author Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name. The show followed a group of four female friends as they made their way through their thirties and dealt with the same faced by women on a daily basis: work, kids and, of course, sex. Each of the forming characters was a stereotype of a certain kind of woman, and everyone watching could to at least one of the personalities.
